Make your own soda!

I was recently sent an amazing product to review called the Soda Stream. The Soda stream allows you to make your own soda at home.

Here is a description of the Soda Stream from their website:
"Making carbonated water and soft drinks is simple! Turn tap water into sparkling water in under 30 seconds, with no clean-up. Enjoy the freshness and convenience of homemade soda and protect the environment at the same time. No heavy bottles to carry, store at home or throw away. Fizz to your taste and add the flavor of your choice to make your favorite drink. Simple to clean and reuse. With a variety of colors and silhouettes, you'll be sure to find a soda maker to match with any decor."

The Soda Stream is a simple and economical product to use. We set ours up in seconds and had our first taste of homemade soda minutes later. You simply fill the soda bottle up to the line with tap water, screw it on to the machine and press the button 3 or 4 times. You then add your desired syrup and enjoy.

My kids absolutely loved this product. Normally I do not allow them to have alot of soda, but because the syrups are made with Splenda they are very low in calorie. So far my kids favorite flavor has been the Orange Mango, mine is the Ginger Ale. I'm not a real big fan of the Splenda taste so I hope they come out with a splenda free syrup in the future. They also have fruit flavorings so you can make sparkling water as well as an Energy drink syrup.

The Soda Stream would make a great gift for the upcoming holidays! You can purchase your own Soda Stream at

Although I did receive the SodaStream to review I was not compensated for this review. Any and all opinions are purely my own.

  1. so what I am wondering is if the syrups are pricey because buying soda in the store isn't really that expensive... My kids would probably love this and see it as a chemistry lab of sorts but Eric doesn't like soda (the bubbles, thanks Annie for another great trait!) and I agree with you about the splenda taste.

  2. What, bubbles make stuff taste icky. Sorry Beth, you know me. I would definitely not like this product. Pretty cool idea, though!

  3. You can make your own syrups for pennies, or use concentrated juice mixes and make fizzy juice! I just made a fizzy limeaid for the kids...it was great!
